VELVET REVOLVER
First off ,I'm sorry the set list is as ragged as the music was, I do not know the names of most of the songs they play. I noticed that no one in the band ever said "Thank You very much" as most
rockers do after we give appreciation. I was front row right when Slash last played KC. His band opened for AC/DC. It was a great night of Rock and roll. This is going to be a VERY busy rock and roll week in KC..KC Royals on Monday, Metallica on Tuesday, The Offspring on Wednesday, and The return Of Slash and Velvet revolver on FRIDAY I AM READY TO GO --Greggh Posted by Greggh I'll be there!!!!!! Posted by Illest PS Thank you Slash, ( if you read this ) for the up close and personal solo when you stepped down from the stage to jam on you gibson 2 feet from our faces. and thanks for the picks you tossed with great technique to make sure I got one . . I have always wanted to tell you Thanks.. Even if you don't recall it was special for me. watching you bend your high E and B and G up to your low E helped inspire me to start learning how to play, I am still jamming and consider you an inspiration. I want to jam with you . Email me Thnaks again -- Gregg Posted by Greggh Greggh---were you front row by the stage, or the island in the middle? I was front and center at the island at the AC/DC show! and yes, Slash rocked! Posted by SaraBethers Sara --I was front row on the right side of the stage right in front of Slash. He stepped down from the stage on to those speakers down a level and was soloing 2 feet in front of my face, I could have touched him, BUT I would 'nt do that . Posted by Greggh I know it's not about slash but I saw scott with stp last year and he rocked. With slash this concert is going to rock, can't wait for KC concert Posted by ksujns KSU--- Scott, Slash ... ITs gonna rock !.. Be sure not to miss The Offspring on Wednesday. My plan to ...see above... started off badly with the Jays scoring 6 runs in the 1st inning last night. We may skip Metallica tonight in homage to $20-$25 ticket prices. Metallica wants $55-75. But it ain't over till.....ANYWAY...Scott singing Slash Jamming and the rest ....I am ready ,RU READY? Posted by Greggh I read my own post, said that is lame to miss Metallica. I mean if they are gonna come to KC ..I gots ta go mama. We called our favorite scalpers and got lower level tickets at a discount ... will tape the Royals and Lakers...and watch them at the after party!!! GO LAKERS! Posted by Greggh Go SPURS! I can't wait for this show. I'm traveling there from Tulsa, OK. Posted by Joewoody Go Lakers, Tulsa is just down the street when the show will be this good. I thank VR for coming here. I thank Metallica for coming tonight . Posted by Greggh Metallica put on a great show at Kemper, The Offspring is next.Yee Haa!! & g'night ;) Posted by Greggh Fuck High Ticket Prices.... Ive paid to see Metallics and New GNR. Let me tell you... none of them even compared to VR at the Roxy on Sunday night. This band is the real deal. It is what RockNRoll is allll about. Posted by xPhoenix Kansas City ROCK AND ROLL WEEK. The plan has worked great so far. Only VR left on the agenda. The Offspring put on an 80 minute 18 song set that blew the roof off. I am Ready for Slash and the boyz. GO LAKERS YEAH YEAH YEAH LAKERS WIN !!!!!!!!!! Posted by Greggh fuckin crazy laker win!!!!!! that was the best finish ever!! GO LAKERS!!!!!! Posted by Rylz hey greggh,..what is your website? Posted by audballtunes www.greggharries.com I have posted my first music videos there,( I started learning how to play 3 years ago ). I started writing and posting concert reviews this week. i have posted some of my old concert photos there. I was asking your permission to post 3 of your pix from the Roxy along with my review of tonights show ,,IF I make it through, and they play ...etctera etc etc. Posted by Greggh Welcome back to KC SLASH, Would you play "We're all having a party"?? Fom it's 5 O'clock somewhere??, and Can we bring in our video cameras???. Thanks for coming and ROCK ON Posted by Greggh Well that concludes the ROCK week in KC. We saw the Offspring Metallica , The royals and VR YEE HAA I love ROCK AND ROLL ......Here is the review I wrote for my website. ............... PS ........THANKS TO YOKO AND VR for this blog.........First off ,I'm sorry my set list is as ragged as the music was, I do not know the names of most of the songs they play. I noticed that no one in the band ever said "Thank You very much" as most rockers do after we give appreciation. The security at Memorial hall was disgusting. They made you empty your pockets and submit to a pat down to get in. Well, sigh, I guess Memorial hall is safe from Al Quida. The security for the general admission floor was just as stupid. They made you give up your ticket stub to get a wrist band. WHILE THEY WERE MESSING WITH REAL TICKET HOLDERS, non-floor ticket holders were slipping by, HOW STUPID OF THEM. For some reason they shut off both side exit/entrances to ther floor, VERY INCONVIENIENT,AND STUPID I missed the opening act and got there at about 8:20 for an 8:30 start, which turned into 9:10. Im guessing the security was tight to keep cameras out, SO I was amused to see 20-30 phones with photo screens being held up for pictures. Security was very heavy handed with the crowd surfers who went over the barricade, I saw at least one incident where they pummeled a guy and hauled him out and off. DAMN!!! The band came on Rocking in ragged glory style. Duff was banging that bass and Slash was wailing on that guitar. Scott was singing great. QUESTION #1, Why were there no long spotlights on the band so we could see the band when they were off to the side, or out in front?. Question #2 Why did they have such low budget sound that it blurred all the instruments into one blur?. It was too loud and distorted, I'm glad I brought my ear plugs which I used one at a time , depending on which ear was towards the speakers. Slash was FANTASTIC, his guitar playing is awesome. I love rock guitar. The only problem was, I could'nt see him in the darkness. He came over to the side and riffed for us. It looked like a treacherous path so I appreciate it. But is was dark !!!, WHY NO SPOTLIGHTS??? I did learn one new pick sliding technique from Slash.. THANKS SLASH!! He does a lot of diferent things like .. talk boxing, feedbacking, etc etc..I wish I had had a better continous veiw of him in better lighting. oh well Scott's comments about country music and Kansas City were lame, he should do his research. He is a good singer, and maybe he was kidding. Oh well. Slash talked to us a little bit ,said He has a lot of freinds here , and yes he does. I think VR has a lot of growth in their future, and I hope they stay together as a band, IF not I know Slash will be back in some incarnation. It is always cool to see big time infant rock and roll. I mean big time rockers in a new band, playing new music, with new mates. There are always blips and burps and we saw that Friday in kansas City. It was great raw, ragged rock and roll. COME BACK SOON, and Thanks for blessing Kansas City with the 2nd date on your nationwide tour. One more comment regarding the porno t-shirts. The lady who sold me my really was disgusted at me and the shirt, which is a black and white image of a nude spread wide open women whit big red arrows pointing towrds her .... and her.... I bought it knowing it may never make it out of my house. BUT it is an instant classic. ROCK AND ROLL I may be back with more as I re-read my notes and recall more details, The set list: kinda 1 Look at me now? 2 I save ya../ I find ya when I want ya? 3 ?? 4?? 5 slash on a talk box guitar 6) Its so Easy GNR 7 Scott tell how sweet Slash's Riff is .....? 8Mean Machinbe ? 10)short break... 11) Slash plays a spainish guitar sound 12) Blue lit stage 13)Get next to you GNR 14) Brownstone 15)Hard rockin...? Sorry , but without a CD I don't know the names..Oh well Posted by Greggh PS GO LAKERS!!!! 62-58 8:38 in the 4th Quarter. Posted by Greggh LAKERS WIN ....LAKERS WIN ...VICTORY......FINAL 88-76, AS LAKERS WIN FOUR IN A ROW TO DEFEAT SA spurs. 4 games to 2.. .....THANKS AGAIN TO YOKO AND VR for the blog........and goodnight...--Gregg Posted by Greggh
